Meet Smokey!

This little guy is 12 pounds and estimated at 2 years old. He was a stray that took a veryyyyy long time for animal control to finally pick up. He was labeled as “rescue only” because he became quite feisty with staff once at the shelter. We had a feeling it was more from being terrified than being aggressive. Sure enough, he has become the sweetest little pup now that he’s out of the shelter. He gets along well with other dogs and is very treat motivated. We are still going to take his behavioral signs into consideration when finding his forever home and plan to keep him in the rescue for a while to fully understand his triggers and set his new home up for success, but applications for this little guy are being accepted now!
